I'm happy to have been a small part of  Zebo's creative process and life during her creation of MOUSE.

So many of the writers and readers enjoyed the festivities around the book launch on Saturday in Sarasota.

Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.                       Neil Postman (1931-2003) American

This wonderful quote inspired me to read about Neil Postman, an author I knew nothing about. He taught at New York University for more than 40 years.  He was an educator, an author and an influential social critic, as The New York Times published on October 9, 2003 in Postman's obituarymobilenytimes.com

I've listed a few of his books:

Amusing Ourselves To Death
Technopoly
The Disappearance of Childhood
The End of Education
 Teaching as a Subversive Activity
 Linquistics: A Revolution in Teaching.

Check out an an interesting article in The Atlantic magazine entitled:
Neil Postman Revisted : Are We Having Too Much Fun

Also, his son, Andrew Postman is an author. Neil Postman must be proud.

I thought about Postman's message. His quote spoke to  my heart on two levels.
1. My loving daughter, wonderful son-in-law and two empathetic and intelligent grandchildren are those living messages.
2. The books I write and fill with adventure, discovery and characters overcoming adversity are also hopeful messages I send to the children of a time I will never visit. Or at least, that is the goal.

So, for that inspiration and much more, I say thank you, Neil Postman.

Looky what I found at Weedon Island Preserve on Earth Day.

Beautiful rocks. I couldn't have found two more special ones. Love is all you need and my book on Pearl Harbor is all about an Admiral and the USN.

I have to post pictures of these on St. Pete Rocks. Thanks to the wonderful artists who created these and hid them in one of my favorite places to walk and connect with nature.

                                   Mystical Moments

I snapped this photo outside my front door and can't remember
ever seeing the sky through the branches look quite as picturesque.
Maybe I should write a story about the sky that evening.
Okay, so maybe it would have to be a short story.

The base of my phone charger. I looked down and saw this and had to share. Happy 2017!
